Tasting Notes

Vibrant red with a purple hue fruits of the forest, both red and dark berries, hint of pomegranate, and a touch of Chinese five spice and stem. The palate has a great intensity of fruit with a richness that is balanced perfectly with supple fruit tannins and a brightness of acidity, this is a beautiful wine, one in which much joy can be found.

Vineyard Notes

The fruit for this wine was sourced from the north facing Henk Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock

Winemaker's Notes

A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – whole berry fermentation in open vessels for two weeks followed by a 10 month maturation in French oak barrels.

Vintage Notes

A cool spring wet spring, mild summer and a long, dry autumn with low crops has resulted in strong varietal characters and fine persistent acidities.
