The Real Review - 93pts
“Glowing purple. A heady nose of incense, iodine and blackberry compote make way for a finely styled cabernet. There’s tension yet intensity on the palate while the flavours are a jumble of black fruits with savoury highlights: blackcurrant and smoked meats. Finishes with a wake of fine, grippy tannins. This is a stylish cabernet that excites in its youth but will be even better in a few years” – Gabrielle Poy

“From the Hyde Park vineyard in Coldstream and matured in French barriques (30% new) for 15 months. A fabulous, almost opaque purple. Concentrated with ripe cassis fruit, a little fresh vanillin and some dark licorice in the background. As good, if not better than the ’22, which is no mean feat in itself given the cooler year. Concentrated with balanced, chewy tannins, this has excellent potential.” – Philip Rich
Robert Parker Wine Advocate - 95pts
“The 2023 Hyde Park Cabernet Sauvignon is, like its sibling in this range, the Barkala Cabernet, floral and medium-weighted. The difference between the two, however, is the Barkala is leafy and brambly and very fine, while this carries substantially more flesh and concentration. I love the tannins, which feel pulverized into the very fiber of the wine, and the length of flavor that has allowed me to write this note. A fantastic, beguiling Cabernet Sauvignon, it is magnificent. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink: 2025 – 2038.” – Erin Larkin
