Tasting Notes
This is medium-bodied cabernet in a very good place, with 2015 a great vintage for Cabernet in the Yarra Valley. Meaty blackcurrant, cedar wood, bay leaves and floral notes. Redder berried characters about the fringes. It croons deliciously through the palate. The mainstay of the palate is pure velvet.
Vineyard Notes
This wine was sourced from the north facing Oakridge vineyard, sited in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream.
Winemaker's Notes
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – fermentation on skins with twice daily pumpovers for four weeks followed by a 15-month maturation in 225 litre French oak barrels.
Vintage Notes
A warm spring and mild summer has resulted in excellent crops and ideal harvesting conditions. The wines have outstanding depth of flavor and structure.
