Oakridge Wines have added another notch to their belt to top off a record year, being awarded ‘Champion Wine of Show’ for their 2015 Local Vineyard Shiraz, Oakridge Vineyard at the National Wine Show of Australia Awards Dinner in Canberra on November 24. The wine also won the trophy for the Shiraz category and Best Red Wine.

The National Wine Show of Australia is a cornerstone of the Australian wine show system and sets out to establish quality benchmarks in the industry. The show judges and celebrates the best Australian wines, which have qualified and won awards through regional and capital city wine shows across the country each year.

When commenting on Oakridge Wines’ successful year, Oakridge Wines Chief Winemaker David Bicknell said “Oakridge has celebrated its best year in wine in its 39-year history. The team and I are always looking for ways to improve in every aspect of the craft, it’s great to see this attention to detail and creativity reaping its rewards. It’s a very exciting time for wine in the Yarra Valley.”
