864 Vintage Release 2025
Introducing the annual vintage release from our acclaimed 864 Single Block range.
September 1 marks the annual vintage release of our highly anticipated 864 Collection – five meticulously crafted single-block wines from the standout 2023 and 2024 Yarra Valley vintages. This year’s line-up features the 2023 864 Funder & Diamond Drive Block Chardonnay, 2023 864 Henk Aqueduct Block Chardonnay, 2024 864 Hazeldene Block 1 Pinot Noir, 2023 864 Close-Planted Block Syrah and 2023 864 Winery Block Cabernet Sauvignon. Drawn from select single-site vineyards and produced only in the finest vintages, 864 captures the ultimate expression of Oakridge winemaking.
As Chief Winemaker David Bicknell explains:
“864 is where we bring together the very best of site, variety, and season. These wines show an extra dimension – a finesse and purity that lifts them above the rest. For us, 864 represents the ongoing evolution of our craft: a pursuit of fragrance, subtlety and site expression that reflects not only the season and vineyard but the people behind every bottle. “
This release is a celebration of that philosophy – and we can’t wait to share it with you.

864 Funder & Diamond Drive Block Chardonnay 2023

The 2023 vintage marks the 12th release of this acclaimed single-block Chardonnay from the Funder & Diamond Vineyard, Drive Block – first produced in 2011.
Close planted in the red volcanic soils of Wandin East in 1990 using the P58 clone, this low-yielding block consistently produces exceptional fruit.
The cooler 2023 season has imparted an extra layer of finesse, with stone fruit, a citrus-tinged edge, and a signature burnt-match character adding complexity. Depth, richness, and a precise line and length confirm this as a classic expression of Funder & Diamond Chardonnay.

864 Henk Aqueduct Block Chardonnay 2023

The exceptional fruit quality of the 2023 vintage saw two chardonnay blocks once again elevated to 864 status. From the Henk Vineyard, Aqueduct Block. Planted in the red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock in 2008 using the Dijon clone 95, this is the highest and coolest vineyard that Oakridge takes Chardonnay from.
The result is a Chardonnay that is edgy, citrus-driven and mineral-laced. Pure, linear, and finely detailed, it carries through to a finish of remarkable length.

864 Hazeldene Block 1 Pinot Noir 2024

From the Hazeldene Vineyard, Block 1, north-facing at 180m above sea level. Planted in the red volcanic soils of Gladysdale in 1998 using the MV6 clone. This release represents the first 864 Pinot Noir from Hazeldene since 2016 – the result of over a decade of dedicated vineyard refinement now yielding fruit of exceptional quality. The 2024 season played its part too: a cool, wet spring and summer gave way to a dry, temperate autumn near-perfect conditions that produced beautifully balanced crops.
Vibrant and complete, with concentrated red fruits merging into blue fruit, whole-bunch complexity, and lifted aromatics. A stylish, highly expressive Pinot Noir from the Upper Yarra.
864 Oakridge Close Planted Block Syrah 2023

From the Oakridge Vineyard, Close Planted Block. East-facing at 120 meters above sea level. Planted at 5,200 plants per hectare in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream using the R6VW28 clone. The 2023 season was notably cool and long, with harvest extending into mid-April.
Dark forest fruits, violet florals and brown spice are framed by fine tannins, carrying seamlessly through to a long, refined finish.

864 Oakridge Winery Block Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Sourced from the Oakridge Vineyard’s Winery Block, planted in 1996 to a mixed clonal selection in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream. Originally established with cuttings from the first Oakridge vineyard of the 1970s, this block continues to produce fruit of outstanding quality.
Cassis, blackcurrant, cedar, lip-smacking and refreshing. A fragrant, supple, medium bodied Yarra cabernet that is destined for a very long future.
