The Real Review - 92pts
“Light, bright red laced with purple. Reserved and sotto voce aromas of smoked charcuterie, the palate light-medium in weight and refined in texture, with good line and length, finishing with soft chalky tannins. This is a lighter style of pinot, typical of region and maker, which makes delicious drinking with lighter foods. Tuna tataki, perhaps.” – Huon Hooke
Halliday Wine Companion - 95+pts
“From 40-plus-year-old vines planted in Gladysdale on red volcanic soils. 15% whole bunches. A light, bright crimson. A charming Willowlake with its bouquet of summer red berries, rose petal and a little blood orange. Gently sinewy on the light- to medium-bodied palate, this is an elegant and pretty version to drink now and over the next four to six years.” – Philip Rich
The Wine Front - 93pts
“Lithe, lovely, light and lean; all those things. This is a steely, bony expression of Pinot Noir with cranberry, peppers and undergrowth flavours running the length of the palate. There’s a fresh cherry aspect too – so fresh that it feels slightly nervy, though the wine as a while feels svelte and well formed. This is a classic “now or later” wine though if anything it leans towards the latter; it will add more strings with time.” – Campbell Mattinson
