Oakridge has been honoured with the title of Best Value Winery of the Year at the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards. The announcement was made at the awards gala dinner held on Wednesday 3rd August at Stokehouse restaurant.

Each year, the Halliday Wine Companion guide selects the best Australian wines, winemakers, and wineries from a vast pool of several thousand entries. The Wine Companion tasting panel, led by esteemed wine critic James Halliday, employs rigorous criteria to identify the high performers that represent the nation’s greatest names in wine. 

Oakridge has long been recognised for its commitment to crafting wines that not only epitomise excellence, but also offer outstanding value to our customers. The accolade reinforces Oakridge’s unwavering dedication to producing top-notch wines that are accessible to a wide range of wine enthusiasts, without compromising on quality.

Campbell Mattinson, Wine Companion Editor, commended Oakridge for its exemplary performance, stating:

“You get the feeling when you look at the Oakridge range that this producer respects its customers as much as it does the quality of its wines. This is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that, of Oakridge’s 15 wines in this guide to have scored 95 or above, every single one of them qualified as Special Value in its category. It’s also pleasing to note that 10 of Oakridge’s absolute top-scoring wines (it went close to winning Winery of the Year) are priced at under $50. Indeed, both of its outstanding sub-$50 single vineyard Willowlake 2021 releases, pinot noir and chardonnay, scored 97 points. In addition to the Best Value Winery accolade, Oakridge was once again awarded a Top Five Star Winery rating, marking the 16th consecutive year that the winery has achieved this prestigious distinction. This accomplishment highlights Oakridge’s consistent pursuit of excellence and its place among the most respected wineries in the country.
